History

Putera Capital Berhad ("PCB") was incorporated as Kamunting Industries Berhad ("KIB") on 22 June 1972. Principally an investment holding company, KIB acquired 100% equity in Kamunting Spinning Industries Sdn Bhd ("KSI") and Kamunting Textile Industries Sdn Bhd ("KTI") on 31 November 1973. With the acquisition, KIB Group became an intergrated textile manufacturing concern. The main activity of KSI was the manufacture of cotton, polyester cotton and other blended yarns. The operation of KSI has ceased since April 2003 due to shift in PCB Group's approach in meeting its yarn requirement. KTI on the other hand remains a manufacturer of cotton, polyester cotton and yarn dyed wooven fabrics
